1. Do I need an appointment to look at wedding gowns?

Yes, at Marry & Tux self-service is not permitted.  Every bride is assigned a personal consultant who will wait on her alone.  Appointments generally run 60 minutes to one and-a-half  hours, and guarantee a spacious mirrored, private bridal dressing room for you.  Call us at 603-883-6999 for your appointment.

We do our best to accomodate walk-ins, providing a consultant and fitting room are available.

2. When do brides buy their wedding gowns?

Both “Brides Magazine” and “The Knot” agree that once you are engaged you should first book your ceremony and reception sites.   Next you should select and order your gown so that you may choose and order your bridesmaid dresses.  Booking tuxedos will be the next step.   Most people with an average engagement purchase their gown 7 to 18 months before their wedding.  If you are planning a short term engagement, do not despair!  We have many styles available for purchase right off the rack or with expedited delivery.

3. How is Marry & Tux different from the other big chain bridal stores?

There are two big differences.  First, although Marry & Tux carries a large selection, we focus on personal one-on-one attention (one consultant to one customer).  Finding the perfect gown should be a fun and enjoyable experience.  The owner of Marry & Tux personally chooses our dresses based on quality, style and price.  We do not purchase “look-a-likes” that are made from low-quality fabrics with inferior construction.  We always carry up-to-date dresses that balance “Trendy Styles” with “Timeless Elegance”.

4. Who should I bring with me when I come for my wedding gown appointment?

It’s great to have one or two people who will give you honest opinions.  Bringing too many people to “Poll the Audience” is a recipe for disaster.  In the end, the only opinion that really counts is yours;  be true to yourself.

5. Can I bring my fiancé or dad with me as I look for my gown?

Because of the nature of our business, brides are not always fully covered  as they try on dresses that might be in a different size than they would be ordering.  For the comfort of all of our customers, the bridal salon is a ladies-only area.  We can all agree that most dads and fiancés would not want other men  looking at their daughter/fiancé in a gown that may not completely zip.  If you have a special circumstance, please call the store directly at 603-883-6999.

6. Should I get a sitter for the kids?

Yes.

A wedding is a fun place for kids – a bridal shop is not. With many sharp objects, mannequins that may fall, it is an unsafe enviornment for small children.  Baby strollers are not permitted in the bridal salon.

7. I’m not looking for a traditional formal gown, but that’s all I’ve found at other stores.  Do I have other options?

Absolutely!  We are known for our selection of informal wedding gowns, perfect for tying the knot on the beach, for second-time brides, or more mature brides looking for sophisticated style.  Informal bridals, destination, and reception styles are priced from $160 to $850.  These styles are shown on our main level, and are available for purchase & take home the same day!

8. Should I bring pictures from magazines or the internet of gowns I like?

Yes, we love to see pictures to get an idea of your personal style.  We do ask you to remember two things: First, the models used by bridal designers average 6 feet tall and wear a size 4.  Secondly, we encourage you to approach this process by considering the photos as a starting point.  Take advantage of your consultant’s expertise, our extensive inventory, and world class customer service; and you will be sure to find the dress of your dreams.

9. Once I arrive for my appointment will I be able to look through the dresses? Or is it going to be like “Say Yes to The Dress” where the consultants just pull dresses from a back room?

We are an open stock store, all of our collections are in full view in our showroom.  With over 400 dresses in stock, and over 50 displayed on mannequins, this allows you to go through all of our styles and not be left wondering if your perfect dress was hidden in a back room and never pulled for you.

By being open stock, our brides tell us that shopping at Marry & Tux is the equivalent of going to 8-10 smaller stores who don’t have the extensive inventory and product knowledge that we do.

10. Can I get a catalog of the wedding gowns you carry?

It is impossible for Marry & Tux to publish a bridal catalog.  This is because our bridal selection changes regularly.  With new gowns arriving daily, and brides purchasing their gowns from our ever-changing inventory, by the time a catalog went to print, it would already be out-of-date!

11. Are the Wedding Gowns “Off the Rack” or “Special Order”?

Yes and Yes, at Marry & Tux you have a choice.  You may purchase your dress from our in-stock selection or, if you prefer, we can place a special order if the gown you try-on is not in your size or color.

12. What are prices like at Marry & Tux?

Our customers tell us that our  prices can be described in one word:  AMAZING!   Most brides are thrilled to find their dream dress well within their budget.  By letting your personal consultant know your price point, she will help you find the perfect gown from our collection, priced from $699 to $2500.

13. What if I find the gown of my dreams and am not ready to buy it yet (I’m not ready financially or I want my mom to see it).  Will you hold the gown for me?

Unfortunately, we cannot “hold” gowns.  We sell many of our dresses off the rack, therefore the dress of your dreams may not be available when you return.  Keep in mind manufacturers discontinue dresses several times a year, and even our best styles have become unexpectedly no longer available.

We do suggest that you bring someone with you who can offer their advice, so you won’t have to leave your perfect dress behind.

14. Do you carry styles for full-figured brides?

We have always enjoyed a stellar reputation with plus size customers.  Marry & Tux offers all our best dresses available to try on in sizes 18 to 28W.  They are available for purchase same-day, or  you can place a special order taking 5 to 8 months depending on the designer.  We have over 100 of our best styles in women’s sizes to try on!

15. I’m planning on losing weight.  When should I shop for and buy my wedding gown?

Every experienced bridal seamstress will tell you that it is easy to take a wedding gown down in size – up to 3 sizes.  95% of all future brides will need some alterations.  The cost is the same whether you are taking them in one, two or three sizes!  With this in mind we urge you not to postpone your purchase until you’ve reached your goal weight.  Waiting too long can result in rush charges and possibly eliminate the chance of getting the dress you love.

 16. What about fittings and alterations?

Marry & Tux has 18 expert bridal seamstresses.  They recommend allowing 6 weeks to 2 months for them to do their work.  Reserving your appointment with a seamstress early is highly recommended.

Don’t live right in Nashua?  No problem!  We have seamstresses from Cape Cod to Concord, NH!

17.  Does Marry & Tux carry bridesmaids?

Yes!  We carry over 600 styles in stock from sizes 0-30W, each available in 30-60 color options.  We pride ourselves in carrying something for everyone, and have been awarded the “Best of NH” for bridesmaids 2 years in a row!

If you are looking for cocktail length, t-length, or long, it’s impossible not to find your dresses at Marry & Tux.  Bridesmaids are affordably priced starting at $135!  Keep in mind our bridesmaid styles are special order, so plan ahead!

18.  What if some of my bridesmaids are out of town?  What should I do?

We understand that not all your attendants are local, and providing us with their measurements will allow us to order them the dress that you’ve chosen for your wedding in their correct size and color.

This is a frequent question that we get, and there is really one major concern to keep in mind when placing bridesmaids orders.  DYELOT!  When you order dresses from different locations, they are not guaranteed to all arrive in the same shade as they will be cut from different bolts of fabric.  The last thing you need to worry about is a bridesmaid showing up in her dress looking like it was sitting in the sun for too long, while all the other girls are the perfect shade that you wanted.  Make your life easier and order them all from the same store!  We’re happy to help!

19. Do you carry mother’s dresses?

At this time we do not carry “traditional” mothers gowns.  We carry a line of simple and clean special occasion dresses that are available for order providing you have enough time for delivery.  Please allow a minimum of 5 months for your dress to arrive.

20.  When should I book my tuxedos?

Once you have chosen your bridesmaids colors, you can book the tuxedos at any time!  What separates us from the chain stores, is that we own our inventory and carry over 1000 tuxedos in stock!  Our rentals start at $69!

Generally it is reccomended that the Bride and Groom book an appointment to select the styles, then the groomsmen can get measured at their convenience.
